Soft tips however are better for the dartboard as it does less damage to the board. They are made of plastic or polythene. Dartboards are the next most important dart game equipment. Cabinets and back boards are certain other items a dart player would seek. A backboard is useful in protecting the back of the dart board. Cabinets holding dart boards usually have compartment for darts. Dart cases are also important accessory for any dart player. There are different sized cases accommodating one single set of darts or multiple sets. Dart shafts are the next valuable accessory.

Certain other accessories used by expert dart players are flight protectors, dartboard number rings etc. Another useful tool that deserves a special mention is the tip remover. Besides these there are wall protectors to be hung behind dart boards, dart hanging brackets are also popular. There are not too many types of equipment that are needed for a game of dart. In a lot of ways dart is an unique game, it has no outfit requirement neither does it occupy too much space. Having acquired the required equipments it is also necessary to maintain them. Cleanliness is perhaps the best way to do it. To extend the life of darts and dart boards regular cleansing is vital.
